Main reason is ease of use as there's an app for that!
Thanks to wifey doing up some nice colourful header pictures I've taken the time to update each section on the site with more info as I've come across it, along with new goals and race calendar etc.
So, in a nutshell the last few months has seen my triathlon program get a lot more attention and dedication as I try to crack the top 10 in NS races for 2012.
I've added equipment, software, coach, training plan, research, books and am better prepared and approaching 2012 with as much dedication as I can.
Where this will end up I don't know, but I do want to try my best and not be thinking what if etc.
So I shall be updating this site with more news and progress on training etc, I've added a blog link which takes you directly to my blog reports also for anyone interested - but I'll aim to do more reports on here this year to keep it all centralised.
I've seen some pretty good time improvements over the last few months, and hope to continue this for the next few months so I start the Triathlon Ireland National Series in my best fitness possible.
There are some very fast athletes I want to catch, both within Pulse Triathlon Club and on the national series level. Whether I catch them may depend on both my rate of progress as much as their rate of progress, as I know none of them will be standing still!
I'm using a coach from Training Bible from the UK who provides online training plans (using Training Peaks) in advance, weekly feedback together with ad hoc emails of info/questions etc and reviews my progress.
The best benefit here is probably knowing that I'm doing the correct workouts at the correct time which was my main objective. Last year saw me make it up as I went along, a bit of structure, bit of grab from a book and bit of I feel like doing this today...
So I know if I'm to improve as much as I want to that a structured plan is very important and hopefully I'll continue to see the rewards here.
So onto 2012 we go, happy training and hope to see you at races this year.
First up is the duathlons where we all get to set a few testers and see how a few others have progressed etc and try bench mark some basic times where possible!
Not long now.
Back soon, and certainly more regularly than 2011!
